One of the greatest pleasures was to be ‘a fly on the wall’ and listen to all the plant owners showing off their prize specimens.

It wasn’t hard to find at least one plant owner in the main hall at any one time showing their plants (and others) to family and friends.

I was happy to see this several times, including one occasion where our secretary, Barby Alston was showing her father-in-law around, and her variegated Haworthia which won a second prize in Barby’s first year entering in the open section.
