The Cactus and Succulent Society of Australia Inc (CSSA) is the oldest Cactus and Succulent Society in Australia, established in Melbourne in 1927.

The Society aims to advance and encourage the cultivation and maintenance of Cacti and Succulents, as well as to secure and circulate all reliable information pertaining the maintenance of such plants.
The Society holds monthly meetings and field trips, where members have the opportunity to view expert growers' collections and seek their professional advice.
The CSSA's Succulents & Cacti Show is an annual Spring event, consisting of a large display area with decorative and rare plants. This is complemented by unrivalled plant competitions as well as sales of specialized books and plants.

Watering
Outside in well drained soil most succulents seem to enjoy as much water as the rest of the garden during the warmer months which include spring, summer and autumn. Allow for less water during the coldest months.
