Our Society is a fun and friendly organisation that prides itself on having members from all walks of life and of all ages, whether a botanist or home gardener. We have a lot to offer.
The Society holds monthly meetings where members have the opportunity to view expert growers' collections and seek their professional advice. Or perhaps just join to receive our fantastic full colour journal as many people do.
The CSSA's Succulents & Cacti Show is an annual Spring event, consisting of a large display area with decorative and rare plants. This is complemented by unrivalled plant competitions as well as sales of specialized books and plants.
The Society also aims to advance the understanding and appreciation of cacti and succulents worldwide. Through education and scientific study we encourage conservation through cultivation.
The Cactus and Succulent Society of Australia Inc (CSSA) is the oldest Cactus and Succulent Society in Australia, established in Melbourne in 1927. Similar societies are located Australia wide, in most capital cities and some country areas (see links page for more).
Succulenticon 2012
This is a 3-day Australasian convention for anyone interested in coming along. The official dates of the convention are Friday 30th March to Monday 2nd April 2012 (however we will most likely have outings/garden visits on at least one, possibly two days extra).

Our Autumn Cactus Show and Plant Sale is planned for Monte Villa Motor Inn and Reception Centre, 78 Old Geelong Rd,Hoppers Crossing (approx. 20 min. drive west of Melbourne central) Melways 206 K2.
Unlike our regular spring show and plant sale, many growers will have plants that only come into their best growth and display during autumn, and so this is a great opportunity to see plants that you might otherwise never come across.
Unique to this day will be many interstate growers and sellers. This is a very rare opportunity for cactus and succulent lovers. Also we are offreing world expert/s who have incredible pictures and stories to share.
Entry to Show and sale $5.00. Optional extra $20.00 to hear excellent international speaker 10.00am and 2.00pm.
Sunday April 1st, 9am-4pm ONE DAY ONLY
This is a joint activity by the Melbourne and Ballarat Societies.
